In a quiet room at CICS Longwood High School, a new kind of storytelling is unfolding. It’s not the kind of story you’ll find in a textbook or a traditional classroom – it’s real, it’s raw, and it’s entirely student-driven. Welcome to the Podcast Club, where every voice matters.
Led by the amazing Ms. Jennifer Day, our Computer Technology Enrichment Teacher, this space gives students the tools to explore the world of podcasting in a way that feels personal and empowering. The soundproof room, equipped with professional podcasting equipment and even a green screen, is more than just a place to talk. It’s a platform for self-expression, creativity, and connection.
For many students, Podcasting is the first time they’ve had the chance to share their thoughts with an audience, whether they’re telling their own story or diving into the tech side of the craft. From the first microphone test to the final edit, students are learning how to bring their ideas to life in a format that’s all their own.
"We’re teaching students how to shape conversations, ask the right questions, and use their voices to create change. They’re building confidence and skills that will stay with them for life," says Ms. Day.
At Longwood, this club isn’t just about creating podcasts – it’s about finding your voice. It’s about exploring new possibilities and realizing the power of personal storytelling. Whether you’re a storyteller, a tech wiz, or simply curious about the world of podcasting, this club is a space where all are welcome.
